MCCOY's VISTA Recruitment

MCCOY is seeking 24 high energy individuals who are passionate about helping children learn during the summer months by serving as Summer Learning Coaches in community based summer youth programs.  As an Americorps VISTA summer associate, you will work under the supervision and guidance  of agency staff to support fun learning activities, especially in reading and math, that will both prevent summer learning loss and promote academic growth.  In addition, you will have the chance to have fun, mentor young people, and have a summer experience you won’t soon forget.  This is a 10 week commitment from June 2---August 8.  Summer VISTAs receive a stipend of $2115 for the 10 week commitment as well as a choice of a $250 cash award or a $1200 education award at the successful conclusion of their term.  Training and orientation is provided.
